DIGITIZATION DAYS will provide the opportunity to preserve memories that have been collected in photographs, letters, diaries, scrapbooks, and more by having them digitally scanned and saved on a USB drive- All at no cost! The images can then be easily accessed for viewing or sharing with friends and relatives.
Trained volunteers will scan the items and the background information you provide while you watch. The number of scans per person may be limited depending on the number of participants at each site.
Digitization Data Forms need to be completed prior to items being scanned to collect background information for each item. They are available at the Digitization Day locations.
There is no cost to participate. Images will be scanned using equipment provided through grants from the Marion Community Foundation and loaded on USB drives provided by OhioHealth. USB drive will be given to participant.
Copies of the images and background information will be saved by the Marion County Historical Society for preservation, research, and possible use in exhibits
Volunteers are needed to assist in the Digitization Days projects. There are opportunities for greeters, inforĀmation collection assistance, and scanning operations. Training will be provided on scanner operations.
